Our Story
Advent is heavily invested in implementing new ideas, foster new approaches an utilize the latest technologies, as evidenced by our self-funded research and development of a geo-temporal analysis system utilizing AI/ML/NLP techniques for applications in Intelligence Analysis, Law Enforcement Investigation and Mental Health Research and Treatment.
Advent is compliant with all DFARS Cybersecurity requirements. Our DCAA-compliant accounting system facilitates transparency for our government clients when it is time to verify costs and expenditures of material in support of contracts.

Advent’s Lean Management approach offers flexibility, reduced risk, increased responsiveness, and an effective customer interface. Advent’s management team is involved in every project, offering the commitment and resources of the entire company; all with the goal of ensuring the success of the project and our clients’ satisfaction and confidence in the quality of our services. Advent’s experience provides an inherent ability to work in and/or manage fast paced, changing environments with minimal disruption of service while preserving team stability.
Advent is led by its CEO & Founder, Tomas Santos-Alejandro, a prior Naval Cryptologic Officer experienced in providing direct support to fleet and national assets, including surface and subsurface combatants, and onboard reconnaissance aircraft.
Advent is the winner of the 2023 Small Business Administration North Florida District Small Business Person of the Year Award.
About Tomas
Tomas was born in Fajardo, PR in 1971 where he served with US Army Reserve during his college years. After graduating college he joined the US Navy and attended Officer Candidate School in Pensacola, FL, where he was commissioned as a Naval Officer in April 1995. After commissioning, Tomas attended Naval Flight Officer School, followed by the Cryptologic Warfare Officer course.
While in the Navy, Tomas served as an Airborne Signals Intelligence Officer onboard EP-3E ARIES II electronic warfare and reconnaissance aircraft with Fleet Air Reconnaissance Squadron One (VQ-1)
Detachment Misawa, Japan. There he participated in Counter-Narcoterrorism, Fleet Protection, and Intelligence & Reconnaissance operations in the Far East, South Asia, Middle East and South America. During his time with VQ-1, Tomas earned his Naval Aviation Observer wings and logged more than 1,000 flight hours.
After his operational tours, Tomas served as a Software Support Engineer, Computer Network Operations Watch Officer, Electronic Maintenance Assistant Department Head and Information Technology Department
Head, while at the same time earning a dual Master of Science in Computer Science & Software Engineering.

- After 10 years of honorable service, Tomas separated from the Navy and worked as a federal contractor holding technical and supervisory/managerial positions for several companies and commands including Booz Allen Hamilton, General Dynamics Information Technology, The Joint Interagency Task Force South in Key West, FL and the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Panama City, FL.
- In 2009 Tomas started his first company, Nexus Technology Solutions, a technology firm focused in providing Software Development services to the federal government and Managed IT services to small businesses in the healthcare and legal domains. After 3 years in operation, Nexus Technology Solutions was acquired by the Seneca Holdings LLC.
- In 2012 Tomas joined Seneca Holdings LLC, the private equity investment arm of the Seneca Nations of Indians focused primarily on federal government contracting work. As General Manager for one of their small business acquisitions, Nexus Technology Solutions, Tomas was responsible for Nexus’ transition from a privately owned to a tribally owned company by implementing standardized business processes and practices and advancing the Seneca Nation Tribal Council corporate objectives.
- In 2014, Tomas joined Advent Services LLC as VP of Operations. Advent Services was started by his wife, Ms. Amy Santos-Alejandro, as a woman-owned small business providing professional services to the US Army. Tomas created the Technology Division of Advent Services to capitalize on his professional experience and diversify Advent’s revenue streams beyond professional services.
- In 2016, Amy decided to concentrate solely on non-business endeavors and Tomas, instead of returning to the corporate world, decided to go back to entrepreneurship and assumed full ownership of Advent.
- In 2019 Tomas was accepted into the Small Business Administration 8(a) Business Development Program and quickly started creating relationships that would allow him to maximize its certification.
- Tomas transformed Advent Services into what it is today, an innovation-centric technology company developing best-value solutions for private sector and government (federal, state & local) organizations through expertise in Systems & Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, Information Technology Support, Digital Transformation and Program Management.
- Advent is currently a majority member of four joint ventures in areas other than technology, a member in one All Small Mentor-Protégé Agreement, a prime contractor on five Governmentwide Acquisition Contracts, and the prime contractor in fifteen government contract awards, including eight direct awards through the SBA 8(a) program. In the last 18 months Advent has grown from 8 to 49 employees and now supports 11 federal agencies in 9 states from locations in Panama City, Florida; Ashburn Virginia; Dayton, Ohio; Charleston, South Carolina and Fajardo, Puerto Rico.
- In 2023 Tomas was awarded the Small Business Person of the Year Award for the North Florida District, and selected to convene with over 35 men of color, comprised of entrepreneurs and small business owners, to participate in Vice President Harris’ Young Men of Color Small Business Roundtable.
- Tomas has been married 26 years to the former Miss Amy Jackson of Panama City, FL. Tomas and Amy have two sons, ages 28 and 20. Tomas enjoys fishing, diving, cooking, traveling, working out, trying to learn how to play the bass guitar and soon learning how to fly... 😊
